The Instructors

Jonathan V. Wright, M.D.,
is in private practice in Renton, Washington. A graduate of Harvard (A.B., 1965), and the University of Michigan (M.D., 1969), he began private practice in 1972. With Dr. Gaby, he has taught nutritional therapy since 1983 to a total of several thousand physicians.

Dr. Wright is the author or co-author of eight books, including Why Stomach Acid is Good for You (2001), Maximize Your Vitality and Potency for Men Over 40 (1999), The Patient's Book of Natural Healing (1998), and Natural Hormone Replacement for Women Over 45 (1997). Dr. Wright has authored or co-authored 24 professional papers. He was monthly medical columnist for Prevention magazine (1976-1986), Let's Live magazine (1986-1996), and editor of Nutrition & Healing, a monthly newsletter, since 1994.

Dr. Wright is internationally recognized as a pioneer and innovator in the field of nutritional medicine. He developed bio-identical triple-estrogen and discovered an important relationship between cobalt and estrogen metabolism, developed effective treatment for childhood asthma, and popularized the glucose-insulin tolerance test and many other innovative techniques and therapies. As a speaker at seminars and conferences around the world, he has helped revolutionize the medical practices of thousands of physicians.

Alan R. Gaby, M.D.,
received his B.A. from Yale University , his M.S. in biochemistry from Emory University, and his M.D. from the University of Maryland . He was in private practice for 18 years and was Professor of Therapeutic Nutrition and a member of the Clinical staff at Bastyr University from 1995 to 2002. He is Past President of the American Holistic Medical Association and provided expert testimony to the White House Commission on Complementary and Alternative Medicine, related to the cost-effectiveness of nutritional supplements.

Dr. Gaby is the author of Preventing and Reversing Osteoporosis and The Doctor’s Guide to Vitamin B6 and co-author of The Patient’s Book of Natural Healing. He is the editor of A-Z Guide to Drug-Herb-Vitamin Interactions and The Natural Pharmacy. He has written chapters in two medical textbooks: Essentials of Complementary and Alternative Medicine and Textbook of Natural Medicine. He has been Contributing Medical Editor for the Townsend Letter for Doctors since 1985 and for Alternative Medicine Review since 1996. He is currently working on completing a 30-year project, a textbook of nutritional medicine, which is scheduled for publication in 2008.

Dr. Gaby is noted for his clear and witty teaching style, as well as his thorough knowledge of the medical literature – past and present.
